AGAPE LOVE: Unending And unfailing

John 13: 34 - "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

When Jesus was here on this earth, His own people rejected Him. If He had thought like a human, He could have left , he could have destroyed everything and built another world altogether. But He did not do that. Instead, He loved us. He laid down His life for us. We should have died, but He took our place instead. That is the agape love of God.

Love is not a feeling. That is worldly love. Agape love is the perfect love that comes from God alone. Jesus's love was something else. It endured so much so that we can have eternity. Agape love comes from God.

God tells us to love one another with this kind of love - the way he loved us.

Agape love - what is it?

1. Unending love:

 It is an eternal, boundless, infinite, never-ending love.

Peter felt rejected when he failed, yet Jesus's love came after him. If someone commits a sin, it is right to correct the person, but never say God has rejected him, because God's love never stops.

Love is the foundation of all the other fruits of the Spirit. Everything flows from love. His love for me will never end when I sin, delay, am weak, or am in whatever situation. Don't depend on feelings. Don't build your foundation on feelings. His love draws me back even when I have been away. The duration of His love is never-ending. By our own strength, we cannot love anyone like this.

Unending love is the love without an expiry date.

2. Unfailing love

Success has a fixed mindset. Nobody wants to fail willingly. When love starts with the feeling of success, it becomes unstable love.

Job praised God even when he was in the deepest pain because the foundation of his life was the love of God. People, friends, and family will eventually fail me. I myself will fail. But the love of God will never fail me. Abide in Him, and you will bear fruit—which is love.

God is not interested in putting you on top, but in grounding you in the things of the Spirit. Success is when He fills you with His love. When you understand this, then it is success. He will make it happen.

Success is when I am alive to Him and dead to the world. Success is in the Spirit.

Change my heart, remove selfish worldly love, and fill me with agape love.
