John 13: 13 - "You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am."

What is the level of your knowledge? 

People have different levels of knowledge.

For example: An aero plane.

A person who has never travelled knows what is an aero plane, but a person who has actually travelled knows more than him. A pilot knows more than just a traveler. But an aeronautical engineer has the highest level of knowledge. Though everyone knows what an aero plane is, the level of knowledge varies.

Almost everyone knows Jesus. Christians, non-Christians and even Satan and evil spirits know about Jesus. But in different ways. What is your level of knowledge?

Spirit v/s the Flesh 

Devil knows Jesus is holy but does not submit to him. Our flesh is also the same. Though our spirit is saved and we have Christ in us, our flesh wants to do the exact opposite of what the Spirt wants. While the Holy Spirit is pure, our flesh is unclean. Many Christians try to walk with both the flesh and the Spirit, with a divided heart. 

Many times though we know certain things are not from God, we struggle to get rid of it. These could be habits, addictions or certain relationships. Why is it so difficult to let go of things that are not from God? - because we love it so much. 

Who is your teacher?

In all the hours that we are awake, almost sixteen hours of the day we receive knowledge from our senses, filling us and teaching us. What are we allowing ourself to be filled with? What we chew is the flavor we will carry. 

Teach your mind the word of God. Seek the face of Jesus every morning. Walk with him everyday in all that you do. And lay on his lap as you go to bed. As you walk in the light you will bear the fruit of the light. 

Who taught Charles Finney? 

Charles Finney, a lawyer by profession, picked up the Bible out of curiosity and later was so convicted that he dropped his law practice to become a Preacher. Who was his teacher? The Holy Spirit 

Let the same Holy Spirit teach you too.

Faith with Love

Paul, despite the warnings that he would be imprisoned, went to Jerusalem. Stephen, while being stoned to death saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

They were able to do this because their eyes were focused on Jesus. 

In times when you are torn between the flesh and the Spirit, keep your eyes on Jesus, especially while taking decisions. It is hard to overcome your fleshly desires when your eyes are focused on it. It is easy to overcome them when you look at God. Jesus said, "If you love me you will obey me." When your faith arises because of your love for Jesus, your Spirit will overcome the flesh.

Other important statements

Faith is the root; works is the fruit. We are trying to change the fruit, but without changing the root.

You may say that you Love jesus, but are you really passionate about him?

You cannot keep the fire, You need to feed the fire. Love for jesus sustains by spending time with him.
