FROM ORPHAN TO CHILD OF GOD

People carry the orphan spirit in different levels. People who are in families, in society, with friends, people who have plenty, but still feel separated, unwanted, unworthy. Still feel rejected. Elijah received the threatening message from Jezebel. Elijah got terrified. First came fear. Many of us know God is good, but we are dragged around by fear. The devil will try to always isolate you from the people of God.

Elijah

Elijah was asking God to end his life, having lost confidence in himself and lost trust that God can use him. Elijah is drowning in hopelessness, away from God’s will, his Helper, God’s people. Just by hooking into fear, Elijah felt disqualified, rejected, useless.

Elijah was sent a messenger by the devil. Paul was also sent a messenger by the devil to torment him. He prayed until God revealed “My grace is Sufficient for you”. Today God wants to restore your prayer life. God won’t let anything overtake us.  

Prodigal Son

“I have sinned against you. I am no longer worthy.” The son ruined himself and his portion so bad he felt so guilty, as a hired servant, feelings too inferior to have relationship. Guilt has made him feel not worthy of the Father’s love. Its not coming from humility, it’s out of hopelessness. But the will of God is this-  When you humble yourself, receptive of God’s love and forgiveness, you do the thing to overcome, to be changed. The Father is the one who embraces you and cleanses you and changes you. You don’t need to carry the guilt once repentance and restoration has been completed by God. Lay down your rejection to receive God’s acceptance. 

Proverbs 19:3 :People ruin their own life out of their own foolishness, and then rage against the Lord.

Job

When we walk in true submission to God, even if something bad happens, they respond like Job. His wife asks him to give in to his desperation. Job 2:9–10 “Do you still cling to your integrity? Curse God and die.” 

The bigger the challenges in your life, God will either move it, or give you peace, grace, or strength to endure. Have you met people who when faced with suffering, they say . “God is  partial” “God has abandoned me…When you see bad things happening and you no longer believe God is good, you are foolish. The foolish are those who are deceived, believing the lies and opposing the truth. Lies and false doctrines make people drown. This deception leads to death. 

Instead, in the storms, when boats are tossed, God offers a deeper realm of peace to those who cling to God. 

Leper 

Matthew 8:1–3 A leper is denied touch, thrown out of society, accused, derided, rejected, feared, broken, known by the worst thing that happened to them. But the moment Jesus enters His life, he’s cleansed, healed dignified and connect through touch and  testimony.

 Many times we also verbally abuse or receive verbal and physical abuse, both leaving broken pieces. You may have caused a spirit of rejection, or carry one. “I wish I never married you.” “I wish I never gave birth to you.” “You are not beautiful or talented.”

Having been betrayed, he was in so much pain, he was aggressively offending, and soon rejected. The only thing society wanted from a leper is that he stays away. So those who feel this way might isolate themselves. But they never get well. Then there are lepers who wear masks and gloves and paint themselves, performing for acceptance. A social chameleon, acting one way in church, one way at work, one way in friend circles, sorry to each place, seeking to be accepted. Be the person God made you to be. 

Take off the masks and end your restlessness. Some people act like leeches. Out of fear of abandonment, some people manipulate the people in their lives to keep you with them. In one way, the spirit in them starts acting on the people of God who entertain every whim and demand: Perform, possess, pull. Using sympathy as a trap. You can’t fight in normal ways against this,  Godly parents feel trapped by misbehaving children who keep throwing off the axis of the family. If you feel controlled by a person who is causing you to grow distant from God, put boundaries. Trust them in the hands of God. The only way is to ask God to free you from them so you are not pulled away from God. It requires wisdom. 

Like Naaman had to expose his leprosy to God in the water, the person who is the proponent of toxic behaviours must come into the light. This person will have to admit , “ I have issues, I have this spirit in me.

Psalm 27:10 even if my Father and mother abandons me, the Lord will hold me close.

“The Lord will hold me close.” Jesus the chief corner stone was rejected by people but accepted by the Father. We call Him Abba Father.Release and walk in this freedom. Like the prodigal , received a ring, a cleansing, new robe, new sandals. Anytime, you face rejection or orphan Spirit, claim that you are the child of God. No matter how people may treat me or count me unworthy, it doesn’t matter, God made me, he approves of me in His Son Jesus..

Romans 8:15 Not a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit of adoption, by which we call Abba, Father.

The father brought the finest robe, ring on the finger. I am of the Covenant. I am the child of God. Nothing else matters
